Information for Preparing Your Files for Print

OUR PRINT JOBS ARE PUT TOGETHER ON A MAC-BASED SYSTEM BUT WE CAN HANDLE JUST ABOUT ALL TYPES OF FILES.

HARD COPY IMAGES

If you have a printout (hard copy) of an image you would like us to reproduce, as long as it is of good quality and has no half tone images we should be able to either get a good scan and/or recreate the same; the larger and clearer the copy the better. If you post or courier us hard copies, please ensure that you do not fold through the image as the crease line may adversely affect the final print quality. For half-tone images where you can only supply a hard copy, we will need to recreate these images as they do not scan well.

ELECTRONIC IMAGES VIA DISK OR EMAIL

If you have the ability to do so please check that your disk is VIRUS FREE before sending it to us.

Suitable formats for one colour logos are TIFF or BITMAP images of 600dpi minimum.

Suitable formats for multi colour logos are:

Adobe Illustrator files
please convert to eps and put type on curves
Freehand files
please convert to eps and put type on paths
CorelDraw files
please convert to eps
InDesign files
please provide fonts
Photoshop files
please convert to TIFF or PSD

For all of the above please provide or embed all links.

JPEG formatted images tend to pixelate quite badly and we can use them in this format only if they are of high resolution or intended for digital Printing only.

Where logos are being supplied for spot colour reproduction, colours must be specified from the Pantone range.

MICROSOFT WORD AND PUBLISHER FILES

Microsoft Word and Publisher files are generally not print quality formats but if they are supplied 'camera ready' we are able to produce a job directly to our digital printer. The printed quality depends on the quality of the original. We would also require a hard copy as fonts etc. can vary from PC to PC.

It is also possible to scan and print from good quality laser output supplied by the customer or, alternatively, you may send it as ordinary text in the body of an email (not as an attachment).

We can accept files from various media formats (CD’s, DVD’s, USB Flash drives, Zip Discs and via email although we prefer you not to email large files.), please check with us if you have any questions.

If after reading the above you are still unsure of our requirements, please do not hesitate to contact our Pre Press Department. Generally, if you send us artwork following our guidelines above you will minimise any additional charges.
